ISM Against Hunger - EXTENDING COLLECTION EFFORTS TO FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13.

The SLO Social Responsibility Department is extending the collection efforts until Friday, November 13.  We are making our way towards out goal of 1,000lbs, but we still need donations to move towards our goal to donate to ICA Food Shelf.

We have reached our goal of $250 of monetary donations for The Food Group and Friends of ISM will match up to $250 to be able to donate $500 to The Food Group through the generosity of our ISM community and Friends of ISM. 

**ACTION ITEM: We will be collecting food tonight at Trunk or Treat, and the SLO leadership team will have a car at Trunk or Treat so you can bring donations there too!  Look for us with the big SLO sign, drop off some food, and grab a treat!  

High School Movie Night at the Dorm

The SLO Outreach Department organized a movie night in the dorm for Friday, October 30th after Trunk or Treat and was open to all high school students.  This activity gives our day students the opportunity to experience dorm life and hang out with our residence hall students.  It will prove to be a big community builder among our high school students!

Shadow Teaching Week - Monday, November 2-Friday, November 6

Organized by the SLO Academics Department, ISM students will be shadow teaching in their classes next week with the collaboration of their teachers.  Students will meet with their teachers to plan a lesson for their class and then teach their peers.  Shadow teaching serves as the highest level of learning when students are able to teach their peers the material they have mastered.  We look forward to seeing our youngest learners to our high school students lead in their classrooms next week.  Pictures will be included in next week's communication.
